WINTER
Mammoth, is known for its for steep slopes, deep
powder and challenging ski runs. Over 3,500 acres
of skiable terrain and 26+ chair lifts make Mammoth
one of the largest resorts in the country. The varied
terrain is more than enough to keep the seasoned expert
challenged and challenge the
thrill seeker just starting out.
There are four Unbound snowboard parks
and dollar racecourses, not to mention solitude in out-of
the-way runs and mountains deep powder, and mountains
as far as you can see.
New for the 1999-2000 season, the Panorama
Gondola will whisk you to the top of Mammoth Mountain
in less than 3 minutes.
If you're not a ski buff there are still
plenty of activities. Cross-country ski or snowshoe
out to the frozen, serene Twin Lakes, take a sunset
dogsled ride to Minaret Vista, or snowmobile around
on one of the many scenic trails in and out of Mammoth.
For the more adventurous type, there
is always intertubing, snow-angel making and the ever-popular
snowball fight. Mammoth Mountain will also offer many
races, concerts and ski camps next season.
