Skiing and Snowboarding
Terrain, terrain and more terrain, something for every ability whether you’re heading to Mammoth Mountain or June Mountain, you’ll find beginner runs to black diamond runs for the experts. For those that choose to adventure out into the backcountry the options are limitless, please always check avalanche conditions. The stunning mountains surrounding Mammoth Lakes, Mammoth Mountain and the Eastern Sierra are just stunning.
Gondola Rides
The free Village gondola supplies access from the Village to Canyon Lodge with views of the Sherwin Mountain Range
The scenic gondola rides to the top of Mammoth Mountain requires a ticket but will supply you with breathtaking views, information on the surrounding mountain ranges and an experience that you’ll remember for a lifetime!
Ice Skating, Tubing and Sledding
Ice skating, tubing, and sledding in Mammoth Lakes provide fun for all ages and activity levels.
Mammoth Ice Rink – behind the library on Old Mammoth Rd. – the new Ice Rink in Mammoth Creek Park will open winter 2024/25. The rink opens Thanksgiving through February, the outside rink allows for skating under the stars and beautiful views.
Wooly’s Tubing and Adventure Park – Enjoy the ultimate tubing experience with the newly remodeled tube park and snow play area. You may zip down the hill without worrying about the walk back up or if you have some little ones with you, there is a tubing merry-go-round and snow play area.
Sledding– If you have your own sleds there is not a designated area to sled but there are many hills you may hike and enjoy your time playing and sledding in the snow.
Snow Shoeing
With more than 3 million acres of wilderness surrounding Mammoth Lakes and, in the Easter Sierra, you may experience the serenity and the beauty around you. Your experience is only limited by how far your legs will carry you. Most of the sport shops or Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center have rentals if you need equipment.
